AMD’s ThreadRipper 1950X 16-Core Shows Up On GeekBench & Sandra

With AMD’s ThreadRipper launch incoming it looks like we are already getting some preliminary benchmark results from both GeekBench and SoSoft Sandra. This is not the first time we’ve seen benchmark leaks from the flagship 1950X, but they are the latest and should give us a more accurate representation of how the final product will perform.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper

Looking at the GeekBench results the 1950X, it scored 4074 points in the single-core test and 26768 points in the multi-core test. If we compare these to what Intel’s 10-core i9-7900X can do in this test the Intel chip beats it. Keep in mind the 1950X ships with significantly lower clocks compared to the i9-7900X’s clocks.

Even if this chips cannot outperform Intel’s Core i9 chips they could be a good value for cores / threads and could disrupt the market as Ryzen did if AMD prices them aggressively. I guess we will have to see when these chips come out.
