AMD To Drop RX 470 Price To Compete With GTX 1050 Ti

According to a report by TweakTown AMD will be competing pretty hard against NVIDIA’s yet to be announced GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. So much so that they will be dropping the price on their Radeon RX 470 graphics card. AMD launched the Radeon RX 470 at $179, but will be dropping it down to $169 in wake of the GTX 1050 Ti launch.

It has been reported that NVIDIA plans to bring the GTX 1050 Ti to market at a price-point of $149. Bringing the price gap to a measly $20 it makes it easier for gamers to choose the Radeon RX 470, which could be at times 30% faster than the GTX 1050 Ti. On top of that the RX 470 was stamped with the VR-ready approval with the latest updates unveiled by Oculus on Oculus Connect 3.

For those concerned the AMD Radeon RX 470 has 2048 cores and is clocked at 1206 MHz with 4GB of GDDR5, while the GTX 1050 Ti is expected to have 768 cores and is clocked at 1392 MHz with 4GB of GDDR5 memory.
