AMD Teases Extremely Affordable Radeon RX Series Lineup

Back at Computex AMD announced the Radeon RX 480, at VR-ready graphics card at an already affordable $199. At that price we did not think AMD could go any lower, but they teased the rest of their Radeon RX Series lineup at the PC Gaming Show during E3, which should be in the $100 to $300 range.

The two cards unveiled by AMD CEO Lisa Su were the Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 460. These cards are made to compliment areas of gaming that the 480 might be too much for. Starting with the RX 470 it is aimed at the average PC gamer, the one that wants to play games in 1080p at 60 FPS with no issues. The RX 470 will also be very efficient much like the RX 480, offering 2.8x performance per watt as the previous generation card.

The RX 460 is a step down from the RX 470 is aimed towards the eSports crowd. It is said to bring 1080p, 60 Hz PC gaming to ultra-thin form factors.

It looks like AMD is going the affordable route to start with their RX Series, it could bring them more market share as many people just want to game at 1080p. No word yet on performance or when these cards will be available.
