Ahead of AMD’s SIGGRAPH event, CEO Lisa Su unveiled what is most likely the retail packaging for the company’s retail packaging for their upcoming Ryzen ThreadRipper HEDT processors. While this could be the actual retail packaging it might also be special packaging it is reserving for reviewers (remember the special box our Ryzen sample came in).
The box is a sort of rounded cuboid box that features a kind of CRT-like window through which you can look at the large Ryzen Threadripper chip. Besides the large “Ryzen ThreadRipper” writing on the front there is no other branding or literature on the box. The box does appear to be large enough to hold the chip as well as the included liquid AIO cooler that the processor is expected to ship with.
AMD will be launching two ThreadRipper SKUs first which will be the 12-core/24-thread Ryzen Threadripper 1920X, and the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen Threadripper 1950X.
