AMD Radeon R9 Nano Detailed

AMD’s R9 Nano was announced yesterday at AMD’s event yesterday and on our original post I said it could be a game-changer for AMD and I really believe that. Since its unveiling more information about the card has been released and we have that for you today.

First off the card is definitely small! It is only 6-inches long! This means that it will be able to fit into almost all systems, even extremely small form factor systems.

While the CPU is based off of a Fiji GPU, it is most definitely a cut-down version. The card is air-cooled so it could not be a full Fiji chip. The render shows four HBM stacks on the card so we know it will have 4GB of HMB, which is the same as Fury X and Fury.

As far as display outputs it will be the same as Fury and Fury X with three DisplayPort and a single HDMI.

AMD has already told us the card will be faster than the R9 290X. It also will have up to 2x performance per watt. Even more impressive is that the card is powered by a single 8pin PCI-Express connector and has a TDP of 175W! That is comparable to the GTX 970!

We still do not know speed or anything like that on the card. The AMD R9 Nano is expected to launch later this summer.
