AMD Radeon R9 290 (Non X) Release Date Confirmed

It has been confirmed by many sources that AMD’s Radeon R9 290 graphics card will launch on October 31st. This is news at many people had thought that AMD would release both the R9 290X and R9 290 at the same time.

The R9 290 makes use of the same Hawaii chip in a cut down form. This means it will have a lower stream processor count (2560) and a lower TMU count (160). The rest of the components are pretty much the same as the R9 290X. Both cards feature a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface supporting 4 GB of memory. The GPU core on the R9 290 is clocked at 947 MHz and the memory at 5 GHz (effective). This adds up to 4.9 TFLOPS of Compute and 320 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

So the R9 290X will be released tomorrow and we will see the R9 290 just a week later.
