AMD Officially Launches the Radeon R9 Fury X

AMD has officially launched the Radeon R9 Fury X today! The card we have been hearing so much about for the past month or so is finally here. The card is specifically designed to compete with NVIDIA’s high-end offerings like the GeForce GTX Titan X and the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. This is the first graphics card to take advantage of the new high bandwidth memory and with that AMD has used a new memory design where the memory has been relocated to the GPU package. This of course makes the card much smaller allowing it to fit in very compact systems.

The card is based on AMD’s new 28nm Fiji silicon and will feature 4096 stream processors, 256 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 4096-bit wide HBM interface that holds 4GB of memory. The card has an impressive 512 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The core clock is set at 1050 MHz and the memory at 500 MHz. Cooling everything off is a factory-designed all-in-one liquid cooling solution that features a 120 mm radiator. AMD says the cooler will keep everything around 50C with a low noise output of 32 dB.
