AMD Could Launch RX 490 In December?

A new rumor has been floating around that AMD could be finishing off the year with a new high-end graphics card launch. The company could launch the Radeon RX 490 by the end of the year, according to a report from Guru3D. The card will either be a dual-GPU card based on two Polaris 10 “Ellesmere” chips or a single-GPU chip based on the larger Vega 10 silicon.

It seems more likely that it would be a single GPU solution as many AAA games do not have multi-GPU support. If the card is based off the Vega 10 silicon it will likely feature 4,096 stream processors, 256 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 4096-bit HBM2 memory interface, holding 8 GB or 16 GB of memory.

Now on the other hard if AMD does go the dual-GPU route with Polaris 10 you’ll have 2x 2,304 stream processors, and 16 GB of GDDR5 memory across two 256-bit wide memory interfaces.

We will keep you updated when we hear more on this!
