AMD Confirms Kaveri will be Available in 2014

AMD has confirmed that their next-generation socket FM2+ APUs codenamed “Kaveri” will begin shipping in Q4 of this year and will be available “very early” in Q1 of 2014 in the retail (desktop) channel. Mobile variants of the chip will be available a little later in the same quarter.

AMD also gave a little bit of information of what Kaveri APUs will be made of. They will make use of four x86-64 cores based on the “Steamroller” micro-architecture, major heterogeneous computing enhancements, and a newer integrated graphics processor based on the “Graphics CoreNext” micro-architecture.
