AMD Benchmarks Show That The R9 Nano is Faster Than R9 290X

AMD’s Radeon R9 Nano is expected to launch very soon, maybe even this week! This card is based on AMD’s Fiji silicon and has had quite a lot of hype since it was first announced. At the company’s most recent “Hot Chips” presentation AMD released for interesting numbers related to the card.

According to the graph below put out by AMD the Radeon R9 Nano lives up to its promise of being faster than the R9 290X, at nearly half the power draw. The R9 Nano has about a 90% higher performance / watt over the R9 290X. Even more impressive is that it has about a 50% higher performance / watt over the Radeon R9 Fury X.

Looking at these figures it looks like this could be the card to get for compact builds targeted at 1440p gaming.
