ADATA XPG Gammix S10 Overview
Taking a look at the drive it is actually one very attractive looking drive thanks to red and black heatspreader with the XPG logo on it. This piece of metal will definitely help with temperatures. For those wondering this is a 80 mm drive, so it should have no problems fitting into any M.2 slot on your motherboard.
Flipping the drive over to the back we can take a look at the PCB, which is black. This drive is powered by the Silicon Motion SM2260 controller teamed with Micron’s first gen 32-layer 3D TLC NAND. These components are actually on the main side of the drive, covered by the heatspreader. On this side we have the Nanya cache chip and a sticker showing all of the information on the drive itself.
The heatspreader is not all that thick at all and should not interfere with graphics cards or anything that might be covering your M.2 drives. There is thermal tape between the heatspreader and the chips on the drive itself.
