ADATA SE730H External Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts
I seriously love these little external solid state drives. First off they give you awesome capacities in such a small form factor. Being so small they are easy to throw in your pocket, backpack, or laptop bag. Also being so small they are perfect for travel, especially if you are a backpacker. Talking about travel the SE730H is IP68 dust and waterproof as well as military-grade shock proof, so you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged if you drop it or it gets wet. Now keep in mind the waterproofing is only when the little compartment is closed though.

On top of being small and being able to take some punishment the SE730H is a very fast drive! In CrystalDiskMark we recorded speeds of 465.8 MB/s read, and 454.7 MB/s write. Transferring 2038 files totaling 22.2 GB took about 43 seconds with a transfer rate of 529.92 MB/s. This is definitely one of the fastest portable solid state drives we’ve ever tested.

It was a bit weird that the drive only came with a Type-C cable. Most of these smaller drives with Type-C connections come with both a Type-C and Type-C and Type-A cables. You can pickup one of these cables for under $10, but that still is an extra cost.

This is a great drive for anyone looking for fast transfer speeds on the go and the added protections this drive has is great as well. Right now you can pickup the 256GB version of the drive for $159.99 at our favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ADATA SE730H External Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
