Testing – ATTO Disk Benchmark & CrystalDiskMark
Next up we have ATTO Disk Benchmark that measures transfer rates across specific lengths. ATTO uses RAW data, our transfer sizes ranged from 0.5 to 8192kb. ATTO is usually our definitive benchmark for solid state drives.
Here we can see that the drive performs right up to its specifications and hits its maximum speed quite quickly.
CrystalDiskMark is our next test and it has a sequential read / write test as well as a 512k and 4k random read / write test. Normally with SandForce-based drives we run this test with 0-fill because SandForce-based drives do not handle incompressible data that well, but with the SP920SS drive we do not have to worry about that since it is based off the Marvell 88SS9189 controller.
Again we see results that match up very close to the specifications.
