Usage & Testing
Just like any other USB 3.0 hard drive all you have to do to get the SE720 working is plug it into any USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port on your computer and it will instantly be recognized. From there you can start transferring files.
The SE720 comes with the ADATASync software which is a single backup program. It allows you to easily select folders you want to backup and sync.
You are even able to set up scheduling for the different folders. Also the backup button on the drive will easily allow you to backup your selected folders whenever you want.
We will be using HD Tune Pro to test the speeds of the SE720. First up is the read benchmark.
With an average read of 279.4 MB/s the SE720 lives up to its advertised speeds. Next up is HD Tune’s file benchmark, which is actually two tests in one. The first test is a transfer speed test that gives you a good idea of sequential read and write speeds.
Next up is HD Tune’s file benchmark, which is actually two tests in one. The first test is a transfer speed test that gives you a good idea of sequential read and write speeds.
The second test is a block size measurement test, which tests different file sizes.
As you can see from both tests the drive performs right up to its specifications.
