ADATA DashDrive Elite HE720 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive Review

Installation & Software Overview
Getting the DashDrive Elite HE720 setup is extremely easy.  Since you do not need an external power source all you have to do is plug the HE720 into any open USB 2.0/3.0 port and Windows will automatically recognize it and you will be good to go.  It is great that the drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, because not everyone has USB 3.0 yet.

ADATA does include their ADATASync software, which is a simple program that allows you to schedule backups etc.  It can be used in conjunction with the backup button that is on the HE720 itself.

All you need to do to setup a backup is select your source folder, then select the backup location on the HE720.  Click the “Add” button and another box will popup that will confirm your settings and ask you to select the type of backup: Backup, Restore, and Sync.

Once you have the backup saved you can either execute it from the ADATASync software or by using the backup button on the HE720.
