A Real Myst Book

Mike Ando of  Riumplus.com has spent the past 6 years creating a working replica of a Myst Linking Book. This book contains a fully functional desktop PC.

He used a Harper’s New Monthly Magazine, Volume LIV, Issue 312, December 1876 to May 1877 (roughly an equivalent of antique Reader’s Digest)… 135 years old book and used 24-carat gold paint to the letters on the cover.

Here is a list of the hardware he used.

  • CPU: Intel Z530P @ 1.6 GHz
  • GPU: Intel GMA500 Integrated
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 32GB CompactFlash card (contains every playable version of the Myst series)
  • Power: 3–cell Lithium-Ion Battery lasting 1.5-2 hours
  • Display: 640X480 5″ LED-Backlit touch screen
  • OS: Windows XP

The price of this very cool book is a mere $15,625. I’m sure some wealthy collector out there will see this as a must have.
