Installation for the CNPS9900 MAX is fairly easy, but a little more time consuming than most CPU coolers. The first step is to install the clips onto the base of the cooler. For this installation we will be using an AMD system.
The next step is to install some parts onto the backplate. These include attaching a nut to the backplate and securing it with a plastic nut cap for the top and bottom most slots on the backplate.
You will then have to attach the loading block onto the backplate via some double sided tape which fits perfectly over the plastic block. The plastic block is used to help keep the spacing appropriate between the motherboard and the backplate.
Once you get all of those steps completed you can get to actually start putting your cooler on the motherboard. First you have to align up the backplate with the holes on your motherboard and then apply a thin layer of the included Zalman High Performance Super Thermal Grease ZM-STG2.
To attach the CPU cooler you will use the four silver bolts and fasten them with the long wrench included with the cooler.
Here’s how it looks once it’s installed on the motherboard.
And when it’s installed inside of the case.
