Shots of the XFX Radeon RX 480 in production have been leaked. These show cards making their way down the production line to packaging. The first photo that you see below reveals that XFX will be using a back-plate on their reference card. This will make it even more appealing to buyers.
The second shot shows the cooler shroud removed and the heatsink taken off the GPU. This gives us an idea of how cool the 14 nm “Ellesmere” chip runs. The GPU is cooled by a beefy aluminum heatsink with a copper core. There is not an elaborate aluminum fin-stack / channel design with heatpipes. A base-plate cools both the memory and VRM.
