A whole new series of Radeon Graphic cards was announced earlier this day by XFX. A string of models was unveiled which included the R9 290X, R9 290, R9 280X, R9 270X, R7 260X and the R7 250. All these form part of XFX’s first attempt towards the AMD range of GPUs and all the above mentioned models feature AMD’s 2nd generation award winning GCN Architecture and PowerTune Technology. These pronounced features are there predominantly to enhance the gaming capacity of the cards and ultimate target is to provide the best gaming experience to the users who are fond of gaming. The PowerTune Technology offers real-time voltage and clock speed optimization which provides higher clock speeds for better performance during gaming hours.
The two most innovative features of these GPUs include AMD’s Mantle and AMD TrueAudio technology which have not only given an advantage to the gamers alone but also focuses towards the game developers with the provision of unprecedented audio and performance enhancements for compatible games. This provides the developers with programmable audio pipeline on the GPU via the built-in audio signal processor which supports 150 sound sources, delivering 7.1 surround through headphones and zero CPU overhead. Previously there was recognition for 50 sounds only. The XFX Ghost 2.0 thermal design has been featured in the R9 and R7 designs as they serve the introductory platform for this. The original thermal design ‘Ghost’ was introduced in 2012 and this latest 2.0 version has evolved since then.
These new Radeon R9 and R7 series have been designed exclusively to work for UltraHD (3840×2160) displays. This platform paired with the Eyefinity multi-display technology by AMD, gamers will love the display output which will enhance the gaming experience which they’ve never had before.
