UltraDock v5 Overview
The UltraDock v5 is mainly blue, which makes it stand out a bit. It is made of aluminum, which not only will keep it cool during operation, but also will allow for wear and tear. On the top of the unit you have a large LCD screen that will show the S.M.A.R.T. info for your drive. Below that you have controls for the screen. To the right of the controls you have a recessed power switch and power indication LED’s. To the left are 3 more indication LED’s.
On the front of the unit is where you will find all of your connections. Starting from left to right you have Firewire 400, 2x Firewire 800, USB 3.0 and eSATA. The USB 3.0 connection is the larger A-type USB connection. On the opposite side you have an IDE / PATA drive connection, SATA connection and power out connection.
On the left side of the unit there is a switch that allows you to change from USB admin mode and USB normal mode. On the right side of the unit you have the connection for the AC power adapter and a SATA power connection.
On the bottom of the unit there really is not much except for the serial numbers. There are rubber feet included in the package that you can install here.
