The V3D231 looks much like any other ordinary display. It has ViewSonic’s typical sleek, but simple styling. Around the screen you have a nice glossy finish. The screen itself gives you 23-inches of real-estate which has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. The display also features a 2ms response time and a 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio. On the bottom center of the display you have a ViewSonic logo and 4 control buttons that are positioned up under the display so they are out of the way.
Turning the display to the side you can see how thing it is. At its thickest point it is only 1.5-inches thick! This means its is not going to take up that much space on your desk and you can mount it pretty much anywhere. The stand on the display is a pretty typical stand, it only offers angle adjustment there is not vertical adjustment and you cannot swivel the display. Also as you can see from the photo below the stand attracts dust quite easily.
Moving on to the back of the display like most displays you have your VESA mounts and connections. On thing that I really like about the connections on the V3D231 is how accessible they are. Most displays have them up under the display, which makes they very hard to get it. With the V3D231 they are right on the back of the display. As far as connections go you have HDMI 1.4a, DVI and VGA. You also have an audio connection, headphone connection and power connection.
On the bottom side of the display you have integrated 2x2W SRS speakers. This is of course what the audio connection on the back of the display is for. I like that there is also a headphone jack so you can easily connect your headphones to the display not your computer. On the far left side there is also a Kensington lock port.
