Ubisoft Delays Watch Dogs to Spring 2014

Ubisoft’s open-world stealth game Watch Dogs was one of the most anticipated games of the upcoming holiday season, but it looks like gamers will not be able to get their hands on the game until 2014!

Watch Dogs was originally set to release on November 19th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U with a next-generation console version to follow soon after. It looks like that is not the case as the Watch Dogs development team has made a post on the Ubisoft blog saying the game won’t be released till the spring of 2014.

From the blog post…

“Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014.

We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”

The blog post does not mention a date, but we are assuming the game will launch on all platforms on the same day. Hopefully this delay will give the developers more time to polish the game and work out all of the bugs.
