TP-LINK TL-PA8010 Blazes True Gigabit Speeds Over Powerlines

Powerline adapters are gaining popularity, and the amount of data consumers are pushing over electrical networks is also increasing. To support the increased data throughput, TP-LINK has released a HomePlug AV2 powerline adapter, TL-PA8010. TP-LINK’s latest powerline adapter provides real gigabit throughput while remaining backwards compatible with older (AV200, AV500, AV600, AV900) devices.

More importantly, TL-PA8010 supports Line-Natural/Line-Ground 2*2 MIMO with beamforming and auto negotiation with other adapters. It also supports IGMP managed multicast IP transmissions, for optimizing IPTV streams. Lastly, like its older cousins, TL-PA8010 will have a max range of 300 meters, and is capable of 128bit AES encryption.

It will be available in Q1 2014, but no price point has been announced.
