Top-End AMD “Fiji” Card To Be Named Like the Titan X

We have assumed that AMD’s flagship Fiji graphics card would be called the Radeon R9 390X, but it might not be that at all. The latest rumors say that the top-end Fiji card will not appear within the 300 nomenclature, but will receive a special name, much like NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan.

AMD R9 390X

So what would this new high-end GPU be called? The “Zeus Radeon?” There are quite a few different names that AMD could go with. This brings up an interesting question, will the R9 390X and R9 390 be the Hawaii refreshes then? We already know that the R9 380 will be a refresh of the R9 285, so will Hawaii then fill the rest of the R9 300 series and Fiji be called something else completely?

It has also been reported that the new single-GPU flagship will be going to $850 at launch.

Expect to hear more information as we get closer to Computex and E3 where AMD is holding their own PC Gaming Show.
