Titanfall Announces In-Game Currency

With the announcement of the new Frontier’s Edge DLC for Titanfall, Respawn also said they will be introducing something that they are calling “The Black Market”. The Titanfall Black Market is the start of an in-game currency system.

Titanfall

The Titanfall Black Market will have two different types of items that you can buy, packs of Burn Cards and Insignia’s. The Burn Card packs will be based around a theme, but the cards you receive from them are random. So for example if you purchase a weapons pack it will likely have burn cards for weapons.

So how do you go about purchasing these items? An in-game currency has been introduced called “Credits”. You earn credits in six different ways: by winning a match, completing a match, for your first victory of the day, completing daily challenges, selling burn cards you don’t want to use, and once you reach level 50, a portion of your experience will be converted into credits.

The Black Market will be available to players once they reach level 11 and will still be available after you regenerate, much like Burn Cards themselves.

Respawn has said that they plan to add more to the Black Market in the future, they also added this, “With the introduction of an in-game currency, some may worry that the next step is that we will let players spend real-world money to get an edge in the game. We have stated several times that Titanfall will not have micro-transactions. Fear not, for we plan to keep that promise – NO MICROTRANSACTIONS! The only way to get Credits is by playing the game!”.
