Thermaltake Litepower 450W Power Supply Review

Overview

The Thermaltake Litepower series of power supplies are available in three different sizes: 350W, 450W and 500W. We got a chance to take a look at the 450W model which just so happens to be 80PLUS Bronze certified. In addition that that certification it has a slew of safety/EMI approvals. Being only 450W it still does support some of the latest PCI-Express cards and Quad Core CPU’s. From Thermaltake:

The Litepower series are nothing fancy, but rather offer a powerful option minus the whistles and bangs. The Litepower 450W is mainly gray in color with a black output sticker on the side.

The power connector and switch are found on the rear side of the power supply. The hexagonal holes that form the grill allow for plenty of airflow for the internal 120mm fan.

The 120mm fan grill covers most of the bottom of the power supply. The unwrapped set of power cables extend out the side of the base showing their true cable colors.

The only set of cables that are found wrapped are the main 24 pin motherboard connector which supports 20 and 24 pin motherboards. There is only 1 cable for SATA connections, but it does have 4 connections.

There are two cables for the molex’s making a total of five available; three on one and two on another. The cable with two 4-pin molex’s also has an FDD connector. In addition to these cables are the 4 pin ATX connector and 6-pin PCI-E connector.
