Thermaltake ISGC-400 CPU Cooler Review

Overview

The Thermaltake ISGC-400 CPU Cooler is the fourth product in the Inspiration for Silent Gaming Cooling line. A horizontal fin design boasts a total of six 6mm copper heatpipes and supports all of the latest and great CPU socket types. You’ll find yourself having to attach the ISGC 120mm fan to the heatsink with two metal clips.

The six copper heatpipes are aligned in sets. Two sets of heatpipes run on either side of heatsink with a spaced gap in between and are aligned closer towards the top of the heatsink while another set, spaced in between the spaces of the other two sits closer towards the base of the heatsink. Unlike other heatsink’s the Thermaltake does not have a smooth area for the fan to rest. The fins have a sawtooth design to increase cooling performance. There is a lip on either side to keep the fan from sliding off.

An aluminum extrusion cover, as Thermaltake calls it, sits on top of the base and extends to the fins, creating not only more cooling, but a support for the fins. The thinner pieces of aluminum extend away from the base while a single thicker piece of aluminum holds up the center. All of the six copper heatpipes attach on the rear side of the heatsink.

The mirror coated base provides optimal cooling between the CPU and the ISGC-400.
