Tesoro Excalibur SE Spectrum Gaming Keyboard Review

Lights & Programming
Typically when it comes to gaming keyboards we get some type of companion software to easy program the keyboard, setup macros, and change the lighting. Well with the Tesoro Excalibur SE Spectrum there is no software, it is completely plug and play and you have to set everything on the keyboard manually. While this can be accomplished, it is not that easy, and definitely more time consuming than using software.

When you plug the keyboard it will all light up a single color, blue in our case. While this keyboard does offer per-key backlighting it isn’t exactly RGB. You have the ability to change the color of each to blue, red, green, purple, teal, yellow, and white. Since there is no software we don’t have a color wheel or RGB input to make any custom colors.

The backlighting is more than bright enough, you have 4 different brightness settings and you can turn the LED’s completely off as well.

There are also handful of lighting effects that you can cycle through using the function and arrow keys. While these are cool, software would make it much easier to set and customize these effects.
