Battlefield 4 Launches on October 29th

Battlefield 4 has been officially announced on Battlefield’s Facebook Page. It will launch October 29th of this year. Of course I know most of you reading this will be getting it for the PC, but it will also be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The Battlefield team has also revealed that the game will be made available for the recently announced Xbox One console as well. So expect to see that later down the line.

Microsoft Announces Xbox Event for May 21st

Microsoft has just sent out invitations and Major Nelson has released on his blog that Microsoft has announced an Xbox event for May 21 2013, ahead of E3. As many people expect the event will be focused on the companies next-generation Xbox console. No word yet on specifics, but the event will take place at on Xbox’s own campus, and will “mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment” according to Major Nelson.

Xbox Essentials Pack Coming in October for $79.99

Microsoft has just released news of a new accessories pack for Xbox 360, which they are calling the Xbox Essentials Pack. The pack includes a wireless controller, media remote, HDMI cable, and 3 month Xbox Live Gold membership. Available in October the Xbox Essentials pack will hit retail with a price of $79.99, which Microsoft says saves you $55 over the price of each accessory individually.

Gaming Friday: 20 Years of Epic Games

I’m sure by now you have heard of Epic Games, they are the creators of the very popular Unreal series, the Unreal Engine that powers many PC games and one of the most popular franchises on the Xbox 360, Gears of War. If you did not know Epic just turned 20 years old (damn that makes me feel old!) and decided to give away a pretty sweet soundtrack. CES 2012: Sennheiser Gaming Headsets

We stopped by the Sennheiser booth to check out their new gaming headphones. In the video, they showed us the PC360, an open air headphone, with noise canceling, and includes a noise canceling microphone. It is in stores now at $249. We also checked out the Xbox 360 version of the headset as well, the X320. It’s only a wired gaming headset, no wireless version for 2012. It also features noise canceling for the headset and mic. The sound quality is definitely awesome and these headsets are both worth the value.

CES 2012: Mad Catz

Mad Catz has made gaming accessories for years. Although recently, MadCatz has seriously committed to expanding their product line. With the Street Fighter X Tekken VS Arcade Stick, Xbox 360 Primer Headset, Cyborg F.R.E.Q. Headset, and the MLG Pro Gaming Circuit controller. But Mad Catz’s new products aren’t clones of what’s already available, each product offers something new. Gaming Friday: Gears of War 3

Gears of War is one of the biggest franchises to be created during the current (7th) console generation. The first Gears of War launched back in 2006, the second in 2008, and the third in 2011. What started off as a simple war between humans and locusts, has spawned a trilogy of intense third person cover based gameplay.

The third installment of the Gears of War series picks up quite some time after the second. Epic has included a video to fill in the time gap between the two games, while also getting any completely new players caught up to speed. While that is all fun and gravy, the question is, how does Gears of War 3 differ from its predecessors?

Gaming Friday – Bulletstorm

We here at ThinkComputers are very avid gamers. So each Friday we will be covering a game that should help you get through the weekend. The games will range from new games to classics that we still love to play. They also are not limited to just PC games either. If you have a game you think we should cover check out the Gaming Friday thread in the forums.

I know most of our Gaming Friday articles have been about games that are just fun, but hey that’s what Gaming Friday is all about!  Bulletstorm is no exception to that!  The game is all about killing enemies, but not just that performing moves in combos when killing enemies to get a higher score.  Bulletstorm is from the same people who did the Gears of War series so you know it is going to be a great game.  Read on to find out all about it!
