Sometimes it can be hard to find an easy, affordable and reliable solution for external PC backups in one product. I have used several HDD enclosures and NAS products from several different makers and never really fell in love with any of them. Most of them have extremely complicated menus that you have to sift through to try and figure out how to change the RAID setup of the device. Then you have to wait several hours just for it to format a few hundred Gigs of space. In the past, when deciding on a RAID capable enclosure you really need to prioritize what is important to you and ask yourself a few questions. How much does it cost? How reliable it is? How easy is it to use? Keep all of those questions in mind as you read this review and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this enclosure.

Hard drive docks are nothing new. They have been around for quite some time and we have reviewed a handful of them. ADATA Releases DashDrive Elite UE700 USB 3.0 Flash Drive

ADATA has a brand new drive on their hands in the DashDrive Elite UE700. The UE700 is a USB 3.0 flash drive, but is of course backwards compatible with USB 2.0 as well. With USB 3.0 connectivity ADATA says you should see transfer speeds up to 200 MB/sec read and 100 MB/sec write. The UE700 is housed in an aluminum casing and is available in 16, 32 and 64GB models.

Transferring files between 2 computers has been made extremely easy for a while now with flash drives.  These devices are small enough to fit in our pocket, deliver fast transfer speeds, and can hold quite a lot of data.  Today we are taking a look at one of Kingston’s latest flash drives.  Announced this year at CES the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 is a USB 3.0 drive that features read speeds of up to 150 MB/s and write speeds up to 70 MB/s.  The drive has a solid metal matte finish and retractable design that protects the USB connection when it is not in use.  Today we have the 64GB version on hand to see what it can do!

Mushkin was showing a full lineup of products this year at CES. They first showed us their 960GB Chronos SATA 6GB/s solid state drive. It is actually 2 SATA drives interlinked in a RAID 0 configuration so you will not lose any performance. Mushkin’s 480GB mSATA drive meets JEDEC specifications. This is made possible by the interconnects on the drive. What is really cool about it is that you can take it apart! We sat down with David from Kingston to discuss some of their latest offerings for 2013. The big announcement from Kingston was their 1TB (yes 1 Terabyte!) DataTraveler HyperX Predator USB 3.0 flash drive. This is currently the worlds largest USB flash drive! It is currently available in a 512GB capacity and the 1TB version will be released very soon. It boasts speeds of 240MB/s read and 160MB/s write. Kingston also showed us their new 10th anniversary HyperX modules, which have a very sleek heatspreader.
