Plextor has launched the M6 PRO SATA SSD. First previewed at Computex 2014, the professional grade M6 PRO is the new gold standard for SATA SSDs, combining extremely fast, highly stable Plextor hardware with PlexTurbo, the unique second-generation RAM caching software. With PlexTurbo, the M6 PRO is able to go far beyond the limit of the SATA III interface and achieve up to ten times the performance of hardware alone.
Toshiba-owned OCZ Storage Solutions have not officially announced the ARC 100 solid state drive, but it has shown up for pre-order on Amazon.com and Scan.co.uk. According to the listing the ARC 100 will come in 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB capacities.

It seems not that long ago 6 TB drives were just announced and now they are selling for as low as $300. Seagate is ready with fully functional engineering samples of its 8 TB hard drives and has sent them over to major enterprise (hosting / cloud) customers for reliability testing and feedback. This was revealed in their Q4FY earnings call by CEO Steve Luczo when responding to a question.

The consumer solid state drive market could see a price war coming with leading manufacturers ramping up production according to industry sources. NAND flash supplier Micron has reportedly reduced sales of its flash chips to other companies in order to support its own Crucial branded solid state drives.
ADATA is displaying several next-generation solid state drives at Computex 2014 this week. These new drives are based off the SandForce 3700 Series controllers, which are set to launch in the second half of this year.
