ADATA Technology today announces the launch of the SP600 Solid State Drive (SSD), an entry level solution to the SATA 6Gb/sec SSD specification. This move will allow both consumers who are new to SSDs, and also those who are especially cost conscious, to experience the lightning fast speeds of solid state drives at an attractive price point.
Mushkin, Inc., an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance and mission-critical computer products, today announced that its new line of slim 7mm Mushkin Chronos Deluxe Solid-State Drives (SSDs) geared for the new generation of ultrabooks that has started shipping worldwide.
Continuing the tradition of Mushkin’s award-winning Chronos Deluxe SSDs, the new drives unleash scorching-fast read and write speeds, cutting-edge SandForce technology, and unmatched performance for the dollar. Featuring high-speed synchronous MLC NAND, advanced controller technology, optimized NAND management and a SATA 6Gb/s interface, Mushkin now offers enthusiasts the ability to upgrade their PC or notebook that pushes the limits of slim computing.
Super Talent Technology, a leader of NAND Flash storage solutions, today announced their fourth-generation Value SSD (VSSD), the VSSD Bolt. The new VSSD Bolt is perfect for business and home users who want the performance and durability gains of solid-state drives without breaking the budget.
The Bolt features a second-generation SandForce® processor and offers fast read/write speeds of up to 250MB/second – up to three times faster than previous-generation VSSDs. TRIM support and S.M.A.R.T. Command Transport (SCT) technology keep the Bolt performing like new and help prevent data loss by reporting on a number of reliability indicators.
RunCore, the leading manufacturer of high-performance and rugged solid state drives (SSDs), today introduced its latest Enterprise-Grade SSD, the RunCore Kylin III PCIe SSD. With an application that includes databases, web servers, analytical engines, high performance computing servers and other similar applications, requiring ultra low latency and high bandwidth are some of the features supported by Kylin III PCIe. It significantly increases performance density while attaining a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) which was never attained before.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced its new lineup of high-performance SSDs designed for use in personal computers. The new series supporting SATA 6.0 gigabit-per-second (Gb/s) interface comes in two tracks; one for general computing purposes and another, an advanced lineup dubbed ‘PRO’ for serious users.
Samsung’s tiered offering for professional and general user environments provides consumers a broader choice of SSDs to best suit their personal requirements.
MyDigitalSSD has teamed up with SuperSSpeeds to offer the fastest and top performing solid state drives on the market today. Utilizing the SandForce SF-2281 controller and SLC NAND flash, the SuperSSpeed boasts incredible speed for advanced gaming, multitasking, and multimedia computing power. Rated at 550MB/s Read and 520MB/s Write, the SuperSSpeed is proof that in this day and age, you get what you pay for, being arguably 20 times better than its nearest MLC rival at only twice the expense including accessories!
SP/Silicon Power, the world’s leading provider of memory storage solutions today launches the new Slim series 7mm 2.5” SSD for the new generation of ultra slim notebook. Built in a slim and stylish enclosure, the new SSD unleashes the full potential of the 6Gbps SATA III interface to further expand computing experiences and mobility.
Yesterday at the Intel Developer Forum 2012 OCZ was quietly giving a sneek peek at their new Vector solid state drive. The Vector drive is built on Indilinx’s latest Barefoot 3 controller. This controller is completely built from the ground up by Indilinx (the Barefoot 2 used Marvell technology). Maybe this new controller will fix the single thread issue we saw with drives based on the Barefoot 2 controller. The Vector drive also sports 2x nm MLC NAND, and a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface.
Other World Computing (OWC), a leading zero emissions Mac and PC technology company, today introduced the OWC Mercury Accelsior M, a Mac and PC-bootable, fully supported PCIe controller card that accepts any standard 50mm mSATA Solid State Drive. By utilizing the fastest data interface available in a Mac Pro or PC-the PCIe slot-the Mercury AccelsiorM can offer data transfer speeds that exceed 3Gb/s SSDs….up to 380MB/s.
Back in July we took a look at the Vertex 4 solid state drive from OCZ. This was the first consumer solid state drive from OCZ to use the Indilinx Everest 2 controller. Today we are looking at OCZ’s second solid state drive to use that controller, the Agility 4. The Agility 4 features read and write speeds of 420MB/s read and 410MB/s write respectively. Since OCZ has been making solid state drives they have always had the Vertex line and Agility line. The Vertex line was always the high-end enthusiast product, while the Agility was aimed for the mainstream. It is no different here, unlike the Vertex 4 that uses synchronous NAND the Agility 4 uses asynchronous NAND and is much less expensive. As of this review the Agility 4 is $189.99 for the $256GB version. Read on as we check the Agility 4 out!
