ASUS has shown off their first solid state drive. This drive has been co-developed with the HyperX team over at Kingston. The HyperXpress Solid State Drive makes use of the new SATA Express interface that you will see on Intel’s new Z97 motherboards.
While there were not a lot of big motherboard announcements at CES this year ASUS was showing off their recently announced Z87-Deluxe/SATA Express motherboard. This motherboard is a modified version of the original Z87-Deluxe where ASUS has swapped out the typical SATA connectors for SATA Express.
TweakTown has let out a teaser of an approaching ASUS motherboard which offers the new SATA Express interface. Intel was apparently wanting to do a switch to SATA Express interface on their motherboards which are based upon the 9-Series chipset which will back up the Haswell Refresh as well as the Broadwell-K arrangement processors.
