OCZ has been one of the big players in the solid state drive market since the first consumer drives were available. We have seen them really push the technology to the limit over the past year, but they are also still concerned about you the customer. That is why they have released 3.5-inch versions of both their Vertex 2 and Agility 2 solid state drives. The 3.5-inch form factor means you do not need an adapter and OCZ claims this design is a lower cost per GB. Let’s take a look at this newly designed 3.5-inch version of the Vertex 2.
OCZ had quite a lot to show us at CES this year. We all know them for making quality memory, solid state drives and power supplies. It seems OCZ is updating each one of these product lines with new more powerful products! They even had a solid state drive in one of their demo’s that broke 1GB/s in ATTO! So without further ado lets see what OCZ has for you in 2011.
Over the past year we have seen a plethora of solid state drives. All of them are pretty much the same besides the memory chips used and the controller. All of them have been the smaller 2.5-inch form factor with the typical SATA connections. Today we have something a little different, how about a portable solid state drive. OCZ calls this drive the Enyo and it uses a super fast USB 3.0 connection. So you get all of the durability advantages of an internal solid state drive but you also get easy portability. Let’s take a look…
Over the past year we have looked at quite a few solid state drives. The big thing this year was the introduction of the SandForce controller into just about every different manufacturer’s drives. OCZ is one such manufacturer, but they have done something different with RevoDrive. The RevoDrive is not an ordinary 2.5-inch SATA drive we are used to seeing, it is a a 4x PCI-Express expansion card with 2 SandForce controllers configured in a RAID 0 setup for extremely fast transfer speeds. Let’s take a look at this drive and see if it can blow away the competition.

Today we have another SandForce-based solid state drive one the testing block. These new SandForce drives have been flooding the market lately and are bringing incredible speeds with them. Today we will be looking at the 60GB Agility 2 from OCZ; we actually took a look at the original Agility back in October. This 60GB version is part of the extended series which reduces the over provisioning of flash on the drive for more storage capacity. The 60GB size is perfect for anyone looking to get into a solid state drive without dropping a ton of money. Let’s take a look…
A little over a week ago we had the opportunity to review our first SandForce-based solid state drive the Corsair Force Series F100. If you have been following solid state drives at all you know that many drive manufactures are dropping the controllers from Indilinx and going with these new SandForce controllers. The new SandForce controllers are very impressive and really push solid state drives to their limits. Today we will be taking a look at the OCZ Vertex 2 120GB Solid State Drive which is based off the SF-1200 controller. It is designed for maximum performance for the mainstream sector. It is available in capacities ranging from 50GB all the way up to 480GB, let’s take a look!
