Kingston HyperX 10th Anniversary DDR3-2400 16GB Memory Kit Review

Kingston is celebrating 10 years of HyperX.  Can you believe that HyperX has been around that long? It makes me feel pretty old!  HyperX is of course Kingston’s high performance memory line.  Recently they have added the HyperX name to other high performance products like their solid state drives and flash drives.  To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of HyperX Kingston has released their 10th Anniversary HyperX Memory Kits.  The modules feature an extremely attractive heatspreader, high frequencies, XMP profiles and the heatspreaders are not that large so they will not get in the way of your CPU cooler.  Today we are looking at the KHX24C11X3K4/16X kit which is a 16GB kit (4x 4GB) that operates at 2400MHz with timings of 11-13-13 at 1.65V.

Crucial Ballistix Sport Low Profile DDR3-1600 16GB Memory Kit Review

Crucial Ballistix Sport Low Profile DDR3-1600 16GB Memory Kit Review

Not that long ago we took a look at Crucial’s Ballistix Tactical Low Profile memory.  Today we are checking out the Ballistix Sport Low Profile memory.  Both of these memory kits solve the dilemma of an aftermarket CPU cooler covering up your memory slots.  This kit is a low profile kit meaning it is going to fit below most aftermarket CPU coolers and be out of the way.  There are not that many choices when it comes to low profile memory so that fact that Crucial is offering their Ballistix line in low profile versions is great.  The memory we are taking a look at today is the 16GB (8GB x 2) kit running with timings of 9-9-9-24 at 1.35v (BLS2K8G3D1609ES2LX0).  Read on as we check out this memory!

When it comes to choosing memory for a new system we have many choices.  From the high-end with crazy heatspreaders and LED lights to the plain-jane green modules without any heatspreaders.  Corsair has always been on my list when recommending memory, especially for the high-end.  Previously Corsair’s high-end offering was their Dominator GT line, which were great and were very popular.  Corsair is back with a brand new line called their Dominator Platinum.  The Dominator Platinum modules are built using only select memory ICs, highly-screened for performance and stability and feature a new industrial design and LED lighting effects.  These have to be some of the best looking modules I have seen all year!  But how do they perform?  Read on to find out!
