We met up with Belkin at CES Unveiled, where they were showing off the shiny new Linksys WRT1900AC, one of the first new wireless products released under the 25 year old brand since Belkin acquired Linksys from Cisco in March 2013.
Linksys has just announced its new top model in their Smart Wi-Fi router lineup, the Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 Router. This router will offer speeds of up to 600 Mbps to Wireless-N clients and up to 1300 Mbps to Wireless-AC clients.
Belkin, a private company based in Playa Vista, Calif., with operations and sales in more than 100 countries, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Cisco’s Home Networking Business Unit, including its proven products, technology, well-known Linksys brand and talented employees. With global operations, Linksys’ main office is located in Irvine, Calif.
Linksys’s WRT54G is a staple in the wireless router market. The WRT150N is the 802.11n successor to that well-known 802.11g router. In fact, the WRT150N is virtually the same as later revisions of the WRT54G, except with the addition of draft 802.11n compatibility, boosting wireless speeds up to 108 Mbps. Let’s see what this Wireless N Router can do as we check it out in this review.
