At the NAB show today in Las Vegas, LaCie has announced it has the largest range of Thunderbolt solutions that are certified for use with Thunderbolt equipped Mac or PC systems. LaCie is the only manufacturer that has five products in its Thunderbolt Series that are compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows 7 and 8. The Thunderbolt product family offers universal compatibility and performance of up to 800 MB/s.
Today LaCie announced its best-selling hard drive, the d2, now features USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity together with the latest 4TB 7200rpm hard drives. The LaCie d2 USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series enables professionals to complete their work faster with ample capacity for large files sizes. Plus, with universal connectivity projects are never derailed by incompatibility.

External hard drives are everywhere, I currently use 4 with my main rig and 1 with my laptop. I really like using them because they are easy to setup and if you need to transfer large files from one computer to another you can just go ahead and unplug the drive and plug it into the new computer.
