One of the biggest splashes made in 2012 in the ThinkComputers universe was caused by the asteroid known as Roccat. A long time player in the Europe, Roccat decided to step up their game and compete with the big dogs in the US market. Apparently German dogs are just as mean as SEA dogs because the products that Roccat showcased at the LVH suite on the first day of CES would even impress Michael Vick. With the inclusion of one of the sickest mechanical keyboard options and the further development of the ‘Power Grid’ product, Roccat is poised to plant some roots in the US and not let anyone tread of that ground.
ROCCAT (PRONOUNCED ROCK-ET) made a name for itself at Thinkcomputers when they allowed us to review the ISKU Illuminated Gaming Keyboard. The ISKU featured solid hardware accompanied by the most dynamic customization software I’ve ever seen. Today I’m taking a look at the ROCCAT Kone[+] – Max Customization Gaming Mouse. Let me start off by saying that MAX CUSTOMIZATION seems like an achievement I’d get in my favorite MMO. If MAX CUSTOMIZATION (I’ll stop with the CAP’s now) is anything similar to what the ISKU had, well, you can paint me blue and call me Babe (Pizza Pizza).
Today we get the chance to check out our second product from ROCCAT, the Kone[+] (Kone Plus). This gaming mouse is of course an updated version of ROCCAT’s original Kone, or as they call it “reloaded”. New features added to this mouse are the 6000dpi Pro-Aim Laser Sensor, the Easy-Shift[+] button and a massive upgrade to the driver. All of these features will be covered in the actual review of the mouse, but we have the unboxing for you today. Read on to check out the video and learn more about the ROCCAT Kone[+] Gaming Mouse!
So ROCCAT’s booth was quite interesting, I mean “Ze German’s are coming, and this time we’ll play nice” is a tough slogan, so I wanted to see what they had to impress me. Put it this way, the 6000 DPI adjustable, East-Shift Button, Tracking & Distance Control Unit, Driver + Macro Manager, On-board Memory (yes you read that right), Weight system (yes you read that right again) did NOT let me down. This mouse is priced at $79.99 which is a highly competitive price to top name mouses on the market today. Check out the awesome interview Kathrine & Marcus provided and it will blow your mind on gaming peripherals!
