Intel is working on their most powerful NUC (next-unit of computing) compact desktop, which they have dubbed “Skull Canyon”. It’s release is slated for the first quarter of 2016 (January – March). This NUC is to feature a Core “Skylake” CPU with Intel’s most powerful implementation of its 9th generation Iris Pro graphics.
In a press conference that was held during GDC Intel was showing some things off, one of the more notable products was a desktop system running a 14 nm Broadwell CPU. Intel plans to release a socketed version of Broadwell in the middle of this year.
Apple has finally refreshed their iMac lineup. This new refresh includes adding Intel’s newest Haswell processors with Iris Pro integrated graphics and NVIDIA’s 700 series dedicated graphics cards. This is a nice refresh for iMac users and will lead to much better performance on these machines.
