A few weeks ago when I got back from CES I went out and met up with my usual group of friends. Being the “tech guy” in the group two of my friends had to show me their new phones. Both were smartphones to my surprise, most of my friends are not tech people at all and have no need for all of the functions of a smartphone. The 2 phones were the Samsung Moment and the HTC myTouch. My two friends were really excited to show me how they customized the Android home screen and all of the applications they had. I’m an iPhone guy and I’ve had my iPhone for quite a while. It felt good having one of the only phones that could have apps on it, but now almost anyone can get an Android phone! This begs the question, is Android taking over the mobile OS market?
Yesterday Apple announced their highly anticipated tablet computer dubbed the iPad. Everyone knew it was coming and it seems Apple is the only company that could make a product like this successful. The iPad is really just a larger iPod touch or iPhone in all aspects. It comes out in 60 days and the big question is who is really going to buy this? Read on as we go over the new iPad and discuss its features and applications.
One thing many iPhone users have complained about is the battery. If you are using mobile web, GPS, or an app that using the internet you will see your battery life start to die very quickly. For this reason many companies have made charging packing and iPhone cases that have batteries in them to charge your iPhone. Today we will be looking at the iConn+ iPhone Battery Case from Nitrox, a newcomer to the iPhone accessory market. Let’s take a look…
I’ve had an iPhone since the first generation and being that I spent $400 on the first generation and another $200 on the 3G, I try to protect my investment. This means that I’ve gone through a lot of cases. Most cases I’ve checked out have been basically the same, but the Reveal is a little different, not to mention it is one of the thinnest and lightest cases that I have seen. Let’s take a look at the Reveal and see if it is the perfect case for your iPhone.
If you have an iPhone or iPod and a car with an auxiliary audio input I’m sure you’ve already taken advantage of it with an audio cable, being able to play music from your iPod through your car’s speakers. This is good and everything but switching songs can be quite dangerous while driving. Griffin knows this and has come up with the TuneFlex AUX with SmartClick. It not only allows you to easily switch songs, but it also charges your iPhone or iPod. Read on as we take a look…
If you have an iPhone you know that the battery life is horrible! Even if you are casual user that might access the GPS and internet every once in a while it seems like the battery drains so quickly when using those services. This is where the PowerDuo Reserve comes in. It is basically Griffin’s PowerBlock Reserve and PowerJolt Reserve in one! You get a reserve battery that fits both included PowerBlock and PowerJolt. So you can charge the battery and your iPhone at the same time where ever you are! Let’s check it out!
Before receiving the H1-Touch from LUXA2 I really did not know there was a market for mobile device holders, but there definitely is, especially for the iPhone! I am an iPhone user and I take my iPhone with me everywhere and I’m on it all the time. Instead of having my iPhone just sitting on my desk it would be nice to have it sitting in front of me where I can easily respond to calls or e-mails. That is where the LUXA2 H1-Touch comes in; it is the perfect holder for your mobile device.
To most people the iPhone is not just a phone it is a necessary device that they need with them every day. The iPhone is also not the most expensive smart phone out there at $199, but if you are spending that much on any device you want to protect it. A little while ago we took a look at Mophie’s Juice Pack Air, which was a combination iPhone case and battery pack. It was a bit bulky so for those who still want to protect their iPhone and don’t need the battery pack they have the Hard Case Plus.
You will find iPod speakers everywhere, but which ones actually sound good? With all these brands out there it is hard to know if these speaker sets are even worth getting. Our friends at Eagle, who already sent us their Soundstage speakers, also make an iPod speaker system called the iDock. The iDock features a dedicated subwoofer unlike many iPod speaker systems, so let’s see if it’s worth picking up.
If there is one thing that I hate about my desk in my office is clutter. I have so many gadgets, chargers, and other things that sometimes it’s hard to sort through it all. When I have a clean desk it makes work easier for some reason. To help with the clutter Griffin has created the Simplifi, which is an iPhone dock, card reader, and USB hub all in one. Let’s see if this cool little device can make some extra room on my desk and clear up some of the clutter!
