If you purchased a new iPhone 5, or upgraded your current iPhone to iOS 6 you noticed that your Maps apps is not longer a Google app, but Apple’s own. Many people are unhappy with these maps and really think that they should have stuck with Google. Now Apple is admitting that their Maps app is not up to snuff. In an open letter to the Apple faithful Apple CEO Tim Cook apologized for not delivering a “World Class” product and suggested using competitors products from the likes of Bing, MapQuest, Google and Nokia, at least until Apple sorts this mess out.

Apple has just sent out invitations to members of the press for an event on September 12, 2012. The invitation shows a large number “12″ with a prominent shadow of a number “5″. It is no question that this event is where Apple will announce the next iPhone, referred to as many as the iPhone 5. After seeing the invitation there is no doubt that the new iPhone will be called the iPhone 5. The event will be held at 10AM Pacific Time (1PM Eastern) at San Francisco’s Buena Center for the Arts.

Rumors and leaks for the iPhone 5 have been all over the internet for the past few months. I don’t think there has been a day when I haven’t seen something about Apple’s upcoming iPhone.
