Motherboard BIOS’s have really come a long way in the past few years with the introduction of the UEFI graphical interface BIOS. This allows for a very nice graphical user interface for your BIOS and also allows you to use both your keyboard and mouse for easy navigation. It looks like things are going to get even better with Haswell motherboards. Gigabyte has revealed their latest UEFI BIOS design and it uses a full 1080p resolution!
Gigabyte recently held an event at its Taipei headquarters to show off its AMP-UP integrated audio solution that will be featured on some of its upcoming motherboards. Since AMP-UP will be on upcoming motherboards Gigabyte showed their brand new G1.Sniper 5, and the G1.Sniper M5 socket LGA1150 motherboards, both of which are built for Intel’s Core “Haswell” processors. If you are familiar with Gigabyte’s G1.Killer series you know these boards are for gamers and enthusiasts.
Whenever a new processors comes out we always want to see how far we can push it. Well for Haswell it looks like a handful of people have already got their hands on them and have been seeing what they can do. The guys over at OCaholic have spotted quite a few CPU-Z validations on Haswell chips, one in particular shows that the Core i7-4770K was overclocked to 7 GHz at 2.56V!
All motherboard manufactures are preparing their Z87 motherboards for Intel’s upcoming Haswell processor launch, which will happen at Computex in June. Today we know what the top gaming motherboard from ECS will be. It is the Z87H3-A2X Extreme and it does look quite impressive!
Last month we showed you a photo one of Intel’s upcoming flagship DZ87KLT-75K which was being show at IDF Beijing. As we said in that post Intel is getting out of the motherboard business, so with Intel’s upcoming release of the 4th Generation Core “Haswell” processors this could be the last time we see Intel motherboards. VR-Zone has dug up the information on 4 of Intel’s motherboards that will launch alongside the processors.
Ming-Chi Kuo, who is an analyst with KGI Securities has issued a new report forecasting that Apple will refresh their notebooks at their upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which kicks off June 10th. Apple is said to be refreshing both the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. The refreshed units will be powered by Intel’s new 4th generation Core (Haswell) processors. This makes sense as Intel will officially launch the processors at Computex (June 4-8th).
We have been wondering when we would see the official launch of Intel’s 4th Generation Haswell desktop processors. Intel has released an image on their social networks that reveals the nanoseconds left (3,337,200,000,000,000) till the launch of Haswell. Looking at when the images was posted, the launch will happen the first week of June during Computex in Taipei.
MSI has been using Facebook to give us a little glimpse of their upcoming Haswell motherboards. Just last week they released a shot of their Z87 XPower motherboard, which has a 32-phase VRM! Today they have released another shot of a different board, the Z87 MPower MAX which features MSI’s Military Class 4 components.
Just last week we got our first look at MSI’s upcoming Big Bang Z87 XPower Motherboard. MSI showed a few photos and a teaser video, which did not show all that much. Today on MSI’s UK Facebook page they have released the photo you see below. The photo shows some of the components that are going to be used on this new board as part of their Military Class 4 components. These include Super Ferrite Chokes, black solid state capacitors, and a total of 32 VRM power phases!
Prices for Intel’s upcoming “Haswell” desktop processors has been leaked by VR-Zone! These processors are rumored to be launching in June around the same time as Computex. Looking at the prices they are very similar to the Ivy Bridge processors which were released in April of 2012. The flagship chip, which is the Core i7-4770K will have a MSRP of $327.
