Well the wait is over, NVIDIA has officially announced the GeForce GTX 780 graphics card. This card is the first addition to its GeForce 700 Series desktop lineup. This card is based on the same GK110 chip that was in the GTX Titan, but it has 2304 CUDA cores and 192 TMUs compared to the 2688 CUDA cores and 224 TMUs of the GTX Titan. The card uses 3GB of GDDR5 memory over a 384-bit bus.
The upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 is set to be released on May 31st after the release of the GeForce GTX 780 on the 23rd. Of course many people already have their hands on these cards for review purposes. Well the first benchmarks of the GeForce GTX 770 have been revealed by the Chiphell forums. The benchmarks show about a 10% performance boost over the GeForce GTX 680.

NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 780 is set to be the flagship of the new 700-series line. This refresh is set to replace current Kepler 600 series cards. A report from Fudzilla says the GeForce GTX 780 will cost anywhere from 500 to 600 Euros (incl. VAT) depending on the SKU. Of course the price in the US will be a little different and we will have to see what it will be as we get closer to the launch date.
It seems that everyone is talking about AMD this week as they will be releasing their Radeon HD 7990 graphics card this week. But don’t count NVIDIA out of the graphics card race just yet. According to a report at 3DCenter, NVIDIA is working on both a GeForce GTX Titan Ultra and a slimmed down GeForce GTX Titan LE. We have been hearing about the supposed “LE” card for a couple of week now, but the Ultra card is definitely something new.
This is another rumor that we have been hearing over the last couple of days. Many people are saying that we may see NVIDIA’s GeForce 700 series by Computex 2013, which is set to take place the first week of June. According to what we have been hearing this is a direct response from NVIDIA to AMD for their agressive bundle push over the past few months. These new cards would be still be based on the existing 28nm Kepler architecture, but a more refined version.
ASUS has already made a name for themselves as the top motherboard manufacturer for quite some time now, but they are really making a name for themselves in the graphics card market as well. Their specialized cards use quality components, come with better cooling than the reference design and even sometimes are overclocked. The card we are looking at today is no different.
