Transferring files between 2 computers has been made extremely easy for a while now with flash drives. These devices are small enough to fit in our pocket, deliver fast transfer speeds, and can hold quite a lot of data. Today we are taking a look at one of Kingston’s latest flash drives. Announced this year at CES the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 is a USB 3.0 drive that features read speeds of up to 150 MB/s and write speeds up to 70 MB/s. The drive has a solid metal matte finish and retractable design that protects the USB connection when it is not in use. Today we have the 64GB version on hand to see what it can do!

The USB flash drive has not really changed much. We have seen all types of flash drives over the past few year, ones that are practically indestructible and other that are waterproof, but the technology in the drive itself really has not changed. Patriot has decided to change this with the Xporter XT Rage line of USB flash drives. These drives feature a Quad Channel configuration, data is intelligently managed and transferred simultaneously to 4 NAND chips resulting in vastly enhanced performance, particularly write speeds: Rage improves on traditional USB 2.0 Flash Drives to offer up to 27MB/s read and 25MB/s write transfer speeds. Let’s take a look…
Designer flash drives have been around for quite a while and Mimobot has been one of the top names when it comes to cool designer flash drives. They have quite a few cool flash drives that have their own interesting designs. Their line of licensed flash drives includes Hello Kitty, Star Wars, Halo, Domo, and Happy Tree Friends. Of course when they asked us if we wanted to review a drive we picked Star Wars. They were nice enough to send us their Stormtrooper Unmasked 2GB drive. USB flash drives have been around for quite some time now. Out of all the drives I’ve ever reviewed my favorite line of drives has to be the Flash Voyager series from Corsair. The main reason is because they are basically indestructible. I take a flash drive with me everywhere and so I need one that is going to take the wear and tear! Corsair first came out with the original Flash Voyager, then the Flash Voyager GT, recently the Flash Padlock 2, and now the Flash Voyager GTR. The GTR is made to be fast boasting speeds of 32MB/s read and 28MB/s write! Corsair was nice enough to send us the 32GB version of the drive so let’s take a look!
Four years ago Corsair introduced the Flash Voyager USB drive, a USB drive that was practically indestructible. A Year after that they came out with the Flash Padlock, u USB drive that had a keypad on the front that allowed you to lock and unlock it to protect your data. It seems Corsair has put the two together and released the Flash Padlock 2, which is basically the Flash Voyager with the Padlock keypad on the front. So not only can you protect your data with a key code you get the awesome protection of the Flash Voyager design.
Regardless of what you do or even where you are from I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Star Wars. The original movies were so revolutionary and the newer ones brought the franchise back to life. With the popularity of the Star Wars franchise you would expect there to be all kinds of Star Wars related products, but this is one of the first time I’ve seen Star Wars themed USB Flash drives. Today I will be looking at the Darth Vader USB Flash drive from Tyme Machines. Let’s see if it turns me to the dark side…
