Storage is something we can never have too much of, I myself have over 4TB of space and it is running out! Most of my storage is external though, so it’s a pain to take with me to LAN parties or other events. Most cases these days have room for 4-6 hard drives, but for some people that still is not enough. How many optical drives do you have? I don’t even use them anymore so I have 4 open spots in my case for nothing really. Well not nothing, ICY DOCK has a great device that will allow me to fit four more hard drives in three 5.25-inch drive bays. The device is the MB974SP-B, let’s see if it is the perfect device for you to add more storage to your system.
TORRANCE, Calif. –November 2, 2010–TRENDnet, a best-in-class wired and wireless networking hardware brand, today announces the availability of the 3.5” USB 3.0 External Enclosure, model TU3-S35, and 2.5” USB 3.0 External Enclosure, model TU3-S25. The market has been flooded with a lot of 2.5-inch drives. There are so many different enclosures being released to fit all of our 2.5-inch drive needs for those older cases without the 2.5-inch hard drive mounting brackets for the more current solid state drives (SSD’s). The Icy Dock MB991IK-B offers a lot of features jammed packed into this little 3.5” front bay enclosure. So let’s put the Icy Dock MB991IK-B to the test and see how it handles all of our benchmarks.
Hot-swappable hard drive bays have been around for quite a while now. Many people use them because they need to transfer large files between computers or they need to take hard drives with them from location to location. The thing that was a big pain when it came to hot-swappable devices is that you needed to have the same one installed on each system so that the trays would work on both systems. ICY DOCK who has been making devices like this for a long time has now eliminated the tray design so all you have to do is just slide your drive right in. Let’s take a look at one of their latest internal enclosures the MB672.
These days I find myself using my laptop more than ever. Focusing on mobility, plug-and-play media is fast becoming a staple for me to keep my information within reach, and nothing does that better than an external hard drive. In order to take advantage of high-capacity external drives, one must find an enclosure that matches form with function: easy to use while keeping your drive cool and safe. Today I will be testing out the Sunbeamtech 3.5″ Airbox eSATA/USB External Enclosure.
We have been reviewing Antec cases for quite some time here at ThinkComputers. While most Antec cases are revolutionary and have many features you just don’t find on other cases they really are plain cases in the sense that they are not that flashy or stylish at all. Well Antec has a case that is anything but ordinary. This case looks nothing like any other case out there and it seems weird coming from a company like Antec, but remember most of their cases really are revolutionary and this one sure is. So without further ado I present the Skeleton Case from Antec!
Most well known for its lines of internal parts—cases, cooling units, power supplies and such—ThermalTake also has a few other lines, including its external storage enclosures and docks. The Blacx Duet Docking Station is one such product. It features dual SATA bays into which the user can drop a hard or solid state drive of any dimension and connect it to a computer via either USB or eSATA. ThinkComputers has the review.
Most external hard drive enclosures that you see these days are made to look sleek and stylish sitting on your desk or tower. While this is good it is nice to see a company do something a little different. In Win has designed a 2.5-inch external hard drive enclosure that is military themed. It actually looks like a clip for a M4 rifle! Made of 0.8mm of cold steel the Ammo enclosure sure offers a lot of protection and for security measures it offers RFID protection. Let’s take a look…
