CES 2013: Fujifilm Instax Mini 8

Hipsters, Fujifilm has a product that will make the rims of your black glasses thicker and the tops of your PBR beers, well, frothier. Fujifilm stepped into an industry gap left by one of the products that changed the scope of photography for all time. The days of instant physical picture (Polariod) cameras have returned and the target demographic for these camera is just who you’d think they’d be for. I know, hipsters, the idea of a company targeting you is the exact opposite idea of being a hipster but it’s just something you’re going to have to deal with. Fujifilm developed a really unique product and it will be interesting to see if something that was considered dated will have the ability to be reborn as a useful medium for hipsters and teenagers alike.

CES 2013: Mad Catz

Mad Catz has some of the most comfortable and unique gaming products on the market. At CES they were showing many different mobile solutions whether they were for laptops or tablets. The R.A.T. M is the only mobile gaming mouse on the market that includes a gaming grade laser sensor. The F.R.E.Q. M is a matching headset that not only can be used on your laptop, but also something like a tablet or iPod. Mad Catz also showed us the M.O.U.S. 9, which is a non-gaming version of their R.A.T. 9 gaming mouse and a Bluetooth gaming controller that can be used in a many different devices.

CES 2013: Archos Tablets

The surrogate mother to the Android tablet has recently been overshadowed by companies like ASUS and Samsung due to superior hardware and product support. Those days are GONE! Archos has revamped the idea of Android tablet and had developed some of the most hardware intensive options currently on the market. With specifications similar to the likes of the iPad any lover of Android should be salivating. Archos has also continued with the innovation of the external functionality of the standard tablet by developing tablet models centered around gaming and productivity. Archos was never gone but was sometimes forgotten…in 2013 they will be a company to be remembered.

CES 2013: Roccat

One of the biggest splashes made in 2012 in the ThinkComputers universe was caused by the asteroid known as Roccat. A long time player in the Europe, Roccat decided to step up their game and compete with the big dogs in the US market. Apparently German dogs are just as mean as SEA dogs because the products that Roccat showcased at the LVH suite on the first day of CES would even impress Michael Vick. With the inclusion of one of the sickest mechanical keyboard options and the further development of the ‘Power Grid’ product, Roccat is poised to plant some roots in the US and not let anyone tread of that ground.

NZXT had a great 2012, with 2 of its cases making our Best Cases of 2012 list. It seems that they have a lot in store for 2013. Just a few months after releasing the Phantom 820 NZXT showed us the new Phantom 630, which has been completely designed from the ground up. Could this case make our best-of list for 2013? Along with the Phantom 620 NZXT also was showing their new Hale 90 V2 power supplies.

CES 2013: Seagate

At CES 2013 Seagate is stepping away from the normal storage options and expanding their horizons into something more “innovative appropriate”. Wirelessly streaming large files from any storage option to a device has been a pain ever since the idea was introduced. Video streaming was the largest of these pains. Seagate decided to develop Novocaine in the form of a storage device that integrates with a specific application for this very task. Even with the overworked WiFi connection and saturated network the video that was shown to use streamed like butter. Check out the video for more in depth coverage.

TRENDnet is introducing a pair of 802.11ac wireless products, a router and a USB 3.0 adapter. It also announced the smallest 500 Mbps Powerline adapter, and it has a pass-through plug, to boot.
