While we mainly know Sapphire for their video cards they actually showed us some of their new Mini PC’s at CES. This is because they video card market is sort of at a halt as new GPU’s are currently not available yet. Sapphire was really excited about their VS series of Mini PC’s that are made to be desktop replacements for moderate users. They offer all of the connectivity and power you would need for basic computing functions, but use far less power. They will soon be releasing a bare-bone version that allows you to install your own hard drive and memory. Check out our video below to get all of the details.
Antec is prepared to make a splash with their mobile product line, appropriately titled Antec Mobile Products (a.m.p). At CES 2013, Justin from Antec showed us the SP1, a Bluetooth speaker, and Pulse, a Bluetooth headset. Although Antec hasn’t abandoned their core and enthusiast PC market. On display was Antec’s new GX700 case, a rugged military inspired design with space for 240mm radiator on top, and an 11.5 inch graphics card. We bumped into Nectar’s Ken Lazarus while walking past the Brookstone booth, completely out of happenstance. In doing so, we stumbled upon one of the neatest tools we have yet encountered at CES 2013: the Nectar fuel cell mobile charger. Through the use of a special chip fabricated by Intel and a butane fuel pack, the Nectar charger can supply 10-20 full charges of a smartphone. This enables not only intraday charging, but days or even weeks away from electricity. The Nectar will retail at Brookstone for $299 with $10 fuel cells, which are one-time use but have recyclable casing.
