The last time I attended a Corsair press event was when Corsair announced they were expanding their product line beyond just memory products. Things sure have changed since then! Corsair is one of the premier brands not only in memory, but now in cases, gaming accessories and power supplies. At yesterday’s press event Corsair announced many different products but the two that stuck out to me were the Voyager Air, which introduced an entire new product category for Corsair and the Obsidian 900D Case, which is the update everyone has been waiting for of the original 800D case.
Unless you’re a mobile tech junkie you’d never know that Sony purchased the half of their mobile phone division that was owned by Ericsson. Up until recently all the design elements that went into their phones were remnants of the previous partnership. At CES 2013 Sony decided to rocket out of the new company cannon with one of the SEXIEST Android options I’ve ever seen. With the manufacturing quality reputation already in place and drive of being an independent mobile option, Sony gives a new meaning to stylish and chic.
Since the birth and death of the MX518 mouse Logitech has been desperately looking for that product to put them back into the spotlight of the gaming scene. This year at CES Logitech has taken the steps toward that potential product. Mice and keyboards designed by gamers for gamers (Sorry Razer) craftsmanship and design planning really shine though. Can Logitech sway you away from some of the newer more attractive players on the market? 2013 could be a return to glory for the once gaming king.
Concept engineering is a big part of what NVIDIA does. The original Tegra processor was an attempt to see if it was possible for a GPU manufacturer to make a processor for more standard applications. That attempt turned into a mobile CPU empire. NVIDIA is now taking that same drive and pointing it to an unlikely companion: Automotive Engineering. The ever growing resume of NVIDIA is an attractive thing to companies like Audi and BMW and because of the engineering demos they’ve developed we may soon see some of the coolest technology integration’s in the automotive industry that we’ve seen in years.
Full tower cases, massive CPU coolers, and quad-fan cooled GPU’s are what the PC industry is all about, right? If you talked to a representative from Xi3 and assumed those things you’d probably get slapped. Xi3 is a company that revolves around the idea that full function computing is something that sound be accomplished with hardware no bigger than your fist. Smaller is better and with a recent investment announcement made by Valve, Xi3 and there product line is nothing to look down at.
Today we spent a good amount of time up in MSI’s suite at CES. While they may not have had a whole lot of new products they had their best products on display and gave us a very informative overview of each product. Not only that we did get to see a prototype of a new X79 motherboard that is part of MSI’s new gaming line of boards. If you follow MSI I’m sure you know of their Twin Frozr graphics cards. They had a card from each Twin Frozr line going all the way back to 2009! Want to check this all out? Read on!
A European powerhouse the silent storm known as be quiet! is finally making its ways to the shores of the United States. Known for quality products with a certain silent flare the be quiet! cooling and power options are nothing to scoff at. Intricate designs and meaningful functionality separate be quiet! from many of the other competitors in the EU but can they make a dent in a market already saturated with quality cooling/power companies? Players like Corsair and Enermax better watch because something quiet might be sneaking up on them.
