Akitio is proud to announce that it is the receiver of the certification of the first 512 GB fully bus powered Thunderbolt storage. This 512 GB model has become part of the already vast portfolio of the company which consists of the storage series. This is most likely to complement all other storage series as well and it has been confirmed that it has the ability to touch the read speeds of 520 MB/s on bus power.
Finally Akitio has added a larger capacity drive to their Thunderbolt storage line. Last year they introduced a 120 GB version, but these days with HD video and other large files 120 GB is just not enough. Today they are announcing a 256 GB version of their Neutrino Thunderbolt Edition. By using a solid state drive and a high performance SATA controller this drive is able to achieve transfer speeds of up to 464 MB/second making it the fastest one bay, bus powered external storage device on the market.

Akitio has a cool little enclosure that will give you redundant storage with RAID support, nice protection with its aluminum design and quite a few different connection options. Did I mention it has a cool LCD display on the front that will give you information about your drives? Read on as we check it out!
