AMD today introduced the new AMD A10-7800 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) to the component channel. This 4th generation A-Series APU with 12 Compute Cores (4CPU + 8 GPU) unlocks the APU potential with Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) features, and boasts powerful AMD Radeon R7 Series graphics for outstanding performance across applications.
AMD has just launched its latest FM2+ socket based processor based on the 28 mm Kaveri architecture, the A10-7800 Accelerated Processing Unit (APU). This APU makes use of four Steamroller cores and has a rated TDP of 65W.
AMD officially released their first round of Kaveri APUs on January 5th and they shipped on the 14th. Three APUs made up AMD’s first round and they included the A10-7850K, A10-7700K and A8-7600. It has been reported that the second wave of AMD Kaveri APUs will debut in the second quarter of 2014.
Baidu Chinese forums have given some pretty interesting performance leaks on the APU where apparently one of the users managed to get hands on the final retail sample of chip which was compared against the A10-6800K and the result was some pretty interesting numbers.
